Tasasha Henderson has 15 years of experience working with nonprofit and philanthropic organizations, grassroots collectives, and community-based organizations to support advancement of their mission and vision. By contributing her expertise in fundraising, communications, event coordination, and operations, she has supported grant making, professional development workshops, strategy development, communications campaigns, meetings and convenings,and direct service programming.

She has a passion for helping organizations that are working to uproot injustice and build communities, systems, policies, and practices that lead to a liberated, equitable, and just society. Her experience includes work in the areas of domestic violence prevention, ending the prison industrial complex, supporting people experiencing homelessness, restorative justice capacity building, and public health.

Selected Project Highlights

  • Managed and coordinated 20-person staff and board learning experiences to East St. Louis, IL and Montgomery and Selma Alabama

  • Developed and implemented a communications strategy that resulted in expanded brand awareness among targeted audiences as seen through increased social media followers, email subscribers, and website visits

  • Lead a committee in planning a two-part workshop on dismantling white dominant culture in the social sector

  • Strengthened board governance through design and implementation of a board management plan
